Water Lines Looped
This fall has been a busy one for maintaining our water lines. When North Rim was built, one continuous water line served the entire lower section of the development, from River Glen down around to River Vista and Canyon Rim Row. Until recently, this meant that when a break occurred anywhere in the line, approximately 223 units had to be shut down until repairs could be made.
We have just completed locating, excavating, looping the water system, installing isolation valves, and repairing sidewalks and asphalt throughout the upper and lower loop. Now when a break occurs, no more than three buildings will be affected while the repair is being made. Hallelujah! This means fewer disruptions of service for all.
The Board of Directors is happy to announce that the work has been successfully completed. Thank you for your patience while the work was completed; we understand that it at times was very inconvenient.

Dear Neighbor,
EMERGENCY WATER SERVICE INTERRUPTION
As the water service system ages, lines fail so we are continuing to upgrade the water system with smaller localized repairs. The next shut-down will be on Tuesday, April 28th. The water will be turned off at 9:00 A.M., and will remain off for eight hours. Please be prepared by filling up your bathtub and setting aside drinking water. Turn off the electricity to your water heater just in case the water drains out when the water lines are emptied.
The buildings at 1425, 1525, 1535, 1545, 1555 and 1565 North Rim Court are not part of the shut-down.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely,
North Rim HOA Board Of Directors

Dear Neighbor,
The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act (VGB) imposes mandatory federal requirements for suction entrapment avoidance on all public pools and spas, new and existing.
We have been advised by our attorney that the North Rim pool and spa should remain closed until work to conform to the standards of VGB and other improvements is completed. Regrettably, all contractors doing VGB work are booked out 6-8 weeks. The soonest we will be able to begin work is early March, weather permitting. Once underway, we expect the improvements to take about two weeks.
We understand that closing the pool and spa impacts the quality of life for our community. Please realize that this decision was carefully made by your Board, our attorney and property management. Our hope is that by scheduling the work during the off-season, we can minimize the impact to you and your guests.
If you have additional questions, or would like to find out more about VGB, please direct your browser to:

Thank you, and thank you for continuing to make North Rim a special place to live.
Sincerely,
North Rim HOA Board Of Directors
